A Northern Ireland potato and crisp producer says business is booming despite facing one of its most challenging times yet.
lens of Antrim Potatoes managing director Mary McKillop said a series of consecutive challenges over the past two years have hit the firm hard, but it is still boosting sales and has welcoming new listings.
“It’s been the most challenging period in our history. There have been things in the past including recessions but this, what’s going on now, is one problem after another.”
The company, which is celebrating 50 years has invested £500,000 in an additional fryer and extra bagging machines to ramp up its crisp production. “And there is loads more growth to come. We really do see this product as a great export,” says Mary.
