McDonald’s Chicken Big Mac UK release date, price and how long it’s around

It’s been a big week for McDonald’s and a roller-coaster of emotions for its fans.

On Monday the fast-food chain broke hearts everywhere when it announced the permanent removal of the bagel and breakfast wrap from its menu. You can read more on this here.

Today, however, brings good news as McDonald’s has confirmed the Chicken Big Mac is coming to UK restaurants for the very first time.

The fast-food chain has said the new burger is one of its most requested menu items and following a successful run in Australia, they will be bringing the limited-edition sandwich to UK restaurants next month.

When is the McDonald’s Chicken Big Mac coming to the UK?

The new Chicken Big Mac is coming to UK menus on Wednesday, February 2.

It won’t be around for long though, with the burger available at participating restaurants until March 15 or until stocks last.

The Chicken Big Mac costs £4.09 or £5.59 as part of a meal, however, prices do vary depending on the branch.

What is the McDonald’s Chicken Big Mac?

The Chicken Big Mac is is the classic Big Mac McDonald’s fans know and love with its reassuringly recognisable triple layered bun.

It is filled with two 100% chicken breast patties in a crispy coating, a slice of cheese, lettuce, pickles and the world-famous Big Mac sauce.

As McDonald’s put its, it’s basically “the most iconic and beloved burger but with an exciting new twist”.

What other McDonald’s menu changes are there?

Joining the Chicken Big Mac next month are a string of returning favourites, including the Double Big Mac, Mozzarella Dippers, Galaxy® Chocolate McFlurry, Galaxy® Salted Caramel McFlurry and the return of the Chicken Legend.

Meanwhile, the fast-food chain’s new plant-based burger, the McPlant, will be staying as a permanent fixture in all restaurants across the UK.

It comes after McDonald’s announced earlier this week it had permanently removed bagels and breakfast wraps after temporarily taking them off the menu in March 2020.
