ITV’s Tipping Point cut short as Cheltenham Festival horse racing takes over afternoon schedule

Tipping Point viewers will be left feeling massively short changed this week as the quiz show will be reduced to a 30 minute ‘best of’ episode to accommodate coverage of the Cheltenham Festival.

While the programme went out as normal at 4pm on Monday, things will all change from Tuesday when the annual horse racing event takes over the afternoon schedules on ITV, every day until Friday.

Ruth Langsford confirmed Loose Women will be cancelled for the rest of the week as Cheltenham takes precedence on the channel, with over three and a half hours of racing from Tuesday to Friday.

Unlike Loose Women, Dickinson’s Real Deal and Lingo which will be cancelled in their entirety, Tipping Point has survived the cull, but will be reduced to 30 minutes rather than a full hour.

Tipping Point Best Ever Finals will be on ITV from 4.30-5pm for the rest of the week, with The Chase surviving unscathed in its regular 5pm slot.

Reacting to the schedule change ahead of Monday’s episode, which was a repeat, one viewer wrote: “Enjoy Monday’s episode. Not only is it a repeat but it’s also the first and last episode of #TippingPoint that ITV will be showing because of the horse racing.”

On realising that Monday’s show was a repeat, a disgruntled fan fumed: “Oh yay, because of horse racing s**t, we get 3 year old repeats of #TippingPoint! Just f*** off, ITV!”

Another dedicated viewer posted: “what happens next week cos of the racing, where do you all go? we got a hashtag we can all meet on?”
