ITV The Chase has been embroiled in a fresh fix row after viewers slammed the show. The programme has been criticised by fans.
Viewers have hit out at the show over ‘horrifying’ questions. Josh, Forida, Damien and Rosie were up against the Sinnerman – real name Paul Sinha – on Wednesday night at 5pm.
Chris wrote: “That has to be the biggest set of bullshit questions I’ve ever seen. Absolutely rigged! #TheChase.” A added: “What on earth are these questions? They’re so, so hard. What a fix.” Patrick Cahill said: “Those questions were murder!!!”
“Both Josh and Forida’s questions have been horrifyingly difficult, is this The Chase or University Challenge?” another asked. The Chase has suffered fix allegations before.
In 2018, The Chase issued a statement after fans accused the clock of slowing down for the Chaser during the Final Chase. ITV said: “Anne gave the final correct answer within the time remaining. The game control system stops the countdown as soon as the correct answer is given.
“On this specific example, the clock stopped with 1 second still showing, giving the appearance that the Chaser had more time to answer but, in fact, the Chaser had already given the correct answer, the clock had been stopped and the contestant had been caught with one second remaining on the clock. This was checked and confirmed by an independent adjudicator. This was explained to the contestant who accepted and agreed with the decision.”
