Aston Villa could face competition from David Beckham if they launch a bid to sign Luis Suarez this summer.
The Uruguay legend is set to leave Atletico Madrid at the end of the season, just a year after firing Diego Simone’s side to the La Liga title. But the 35-year-old is not ready to hang up his boots and will be wanted by club in multiple countries.
Villa have naturally been linked with the former Liverpool and Barcelona star due to the Steven Gerrard connection from their time together at Anfield. The presence of Philippe Coutinho, if he signs permanently, would also be a potential draw to Villa Park.
Suarez has also been linked with a move to the United States, where many world stars have ventured towards the end of their playing careers. And according to Spanish title SPORT, he is wanted at Inter Miami, where Beckham is a part-owner.
The same report also claims Beckham wants to sign two current Barcelona stars, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba. A separate report, from Mundo Deportivo, says Beckham would even like to sign Lionel Messi from PSG.
